Arts Council’s kids film festival offers a free day of fun for everyone

The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana’s Children’s Film Fest curated by the New York Int’l Children’s Film Festival returns Feb. 26, 2022 at EVPL Central.

This is the perfect event for families with children — there’s no cost, you can come and go as you please, there are free international treats, and you experience world-class entertainment.

The tour features audience favorite and award-winning short films from New York Int’l Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF), the nation’s largest film festival for kids and teens in North America.

The festival is 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 in EVPL Central’s Browning Room. EVPL will also offer hands-on kids activities during the festival in EVPL Central’s River Room.

There are 27 short films from 17 countries ranging from 2 minutes to 15 minutes in runtime. All films will have English subtitles, be in English, or have no dialogue.

Countries include Australia, Colombia, Cuba, Finland, France, Guatemala, India, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Russian Federation, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

FILM SCHEDULE:

  • NYICFF Kid Flicks One (11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) – Catch the best short films from around the world for ages 3-7!
  • 12:30 p.m. – NYICFF Viva Kid Flicks (12:45-1:50 p.m.) – Catch the best Spanish-language short films from around the world for ages 8+!
  • NYICFF Kid Flicks Two (2-3:15 p.m.) – Catch the best short films from around the world for ages 7+!
