Have you ever wanted a hands-on lesson on how to craft the perfect cocktail? The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana has you covered.
The Arts Council combined the gallery and rooftop experience with the art of mixology to create a new series of fundraisers. The first event is May 13 — Friday the 13th. For the spooky day, we have a spooky cocktail, the sazerac. Inspired by the southern gothic haunts of New Orleans, the sazerac is a classic cocktail combining absinthe, rye whiskey, bitters and sugar.
Participants will get to mix the non-alcoholic portions of the drink themselves with a hands-on lesson from Drew Maurer, bartender at 2nd Language. You then can enjoy your creation on the Rooftop Art Deck overlooking Downtown Evansville. If you finish your cocktail and still want to hang out, don’t worry. There will be cash bar on the roof and live music by Toby Ellis to keep you entertained.
Admission to this unique fundraiser is $50, which includes the bartending lesson, the cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, musical entertainment by Toby Ellis, and a complimentary bar tool gift so you can continue crafting great cocktails at home. Capacity is limited, so reserve your spot now! Adults 21+ only.
