Book Binding Workshop

Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana 212 Main St, Evansville, IN, United States

Join local artist Mark Brendel and the Evansville Design Group (EDG) from 6pm-9pm on Tuesday, May 6th for an evening exploring the craft of making books by hand. Mark will show examples of the books he's created over the years and will demonstrate his bookmaking process. Participants will learn the basic steps in creating a book and will create their own small hardbound accordion book.  There will be a $5 material fee to be paid on the day of the class. Space is limited to 40 participants. Sign up below.

Work in Progress: “Digitized”

The Arts Council is hosting a new series of artistic conversations and workshops called “Work in Progress.” This project aims to engage artists with other creatives and the community through a variety of collaborative discussions and interactive events.  The third installment is an artistic "Show & Tell" based on our exhibit "Digitized" If you would like to engage with local artists and learn about their process of creating, please join us for this free event! Join us On the Roof for live and local music The Randys, Macrogeo, and D.R. Bridges. On The Roof is the region’s most unique concert experience. Performances are 6:30-10 p.m. on Saturdays through the summer. All On The Roof concerts are free and open to all ages. Enjoy music from the second-story rooftop, or from the ground on Main Street. A cash bar provided by Patsy Hartigan's is available at all concerts. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
